Answer (1 of 3): Yes you can but there may be some latency issues because internal Hdd is directly connected to pci Express where as external hdd goes through USB-PCI input and pci-usb might not be suitable for multiplayer games I tried witcher 3 using external hard drive, there isnt much differ.
